Under the hood is Jeep’s advanced 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection four-cylinder engine working with two electric motor-generators and a 400-volt, 17-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Combined output is an impressive 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, delivered through an 8-speed automatic transmission. The electric motors provide immediate torque from a standstill, giving the 4xe strong acceleration while also improving control at low speeds on challenging terrain.
The 4xe also gives you genuine electric-driving capability. The 2023 Willys 4xe is rated for approximately 21 miles of all-electric range and 49 MPGe. Jeep’s E-Selec system provides three selectable operating modes—Hybrid, Electric, and eSave—allowing the driver to choose how and when battery power is used. A Level 2 charger can replenish the battery in approximately two hours, while the included Level 1 charging setup can charge it from a standard household outlet.
Where the Willys 4xe really separates itself is underneath. Standard equipment includes the Selec-Trac® full-time 4WD system with a 2.72:1 low-range ratio, heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, Trac-Lok® limited-slip rear differential, Rubicon shock absorbers, factory suspension lift, and steel rock rails. The Willys delivers 10.1 inches of ground clearance and is engineered for up to 30 inches of water fording, giving this electrified Wrangler genuine Jeep Trail Rated® capability.
